Do you think online discipleship actually produces results outside the virtual world?
If Jesus had access to a calendar like MS Office offers, would he use it to “expand” his influence or would He be unplugged?
I ask this simply to point out the possibility that technology (from phones to email to blackberry’s and yes even this blog) have not made us more effective just busier. These things haven’t made us more holy – just more hurried. Holiness has a rhythm to it but I feel like a bluegrass flatpicker trying to sit in on a jazz session...out of step, a beat behind and out of place. And technology doesn't aid in my learning the syncopation.
I think I may just chunk all my spreadsheets and work off of post it notes. Of course, if I did that I would color code the post it notes and prioritize them by task, date, etc...

I'm not necessarily saying it is either/or...I'm just saying I don't think "staying connected" really helps us become more holy. In fact that connectedness may create noise where God would prefer some silence.

I agree! In ways I think Technology has slowed us down instead of sped us up in the discipleship process.
